In all the hubbub...

I have forgotten to share with you the biggest news of ALL!!!!

I broke out the girls! Venus and Serena had been hiding in the closet, save jaunts around the house, since September.

For the first.time.ever. I wore them in public! I strolled through the parking lot, sat in a pew, put on flip flops for singing time with the kids, put them back on through the parking lot for the ride home and took them off as soon as I got in the car- because my feet were killing me... but, I did look hot.

The boy who lived!!!

yes, someone did yell that out the car window whilst driving by the ridiculous line we were waiting in to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. Ashley and I thought that a 10:00 p.m. arrival at the theater would give us ample time to be in the front of the line. Denied. The line had already wrapped around the building. No need to worry, my friends. We played Apples to Apples and took silly pictures. It was all good fun. I enjoyed the movie and was only bothered slightly by the variance from the book because it had been so long since I read the Half-Blood Prince.

Grandma's Memorial

Our lives have been so busy preparing for event after event. I have truly enjoyed the labor of love involved in the preparation for my grandmother's memorial service. I loved seeing my family and enjoyed the stories and memories shared in her honor. I love my family and am grateful for all the work put in to honoring my grandmother's memory. Here are some pictures from the weekend!

Above: One of the few semi-serious/normal shots of all of us.
Below: Kaitlin taking her duty as oldest cousin very seriously.

Below: Kaitlin was told to NOT go in the water because it was too cold. She took full advantage of my cousin, Becca, and plowed right into the frigid ocean. Poor Becca kept following Kaitlin into the water to 'save her' because Kaitlin was claiming to be helpless. At one point, Becca was carrying Kitlin into shore and got hit full in the back by a wave. I felt so terrible! Luckily, there was a bonfire to warm everyone up!
Below: Being uncooperative... trying to scramble her way back into the water. I am using as much strangth as I can without making a strained face.

Old Friends

We were fortunate to have our friends, the Klugs, visit us from Utah. Bonus: bringing their grandson, Jacob along. Jacob and Kaitlin have known each other since before they were born and have birthdates only weeks apart. While the Klugs & Jacob were here, we had a blast and did lots of fun things! It all started on the first night. Kaitlin and Jacob stayed up until 2:30 in the morning, just talking away. I figured I'd have to wait ten years until Kaitlin would be keeping me up with her sleepovers... we ate good food, laughed and watched some great netflix. We are so lucky to have great friends!
